Black and White Art and Your Thoughts

So most of us love black and white photos as we feel that it brings out our best features and hides any faults but what do you think about black and white art?  I have to say black and white art has a huge followings and many people like black and white paintings when its in large abstract form.  It is not easy to paint in black and white because the details of a painting can be somewhat lost in the darkness of an image if you're not careful.  Also while painting one could get carried away and add too much white since there are only two colours to work with.  I personally love painting in colour but I wanted the challenge of painting in black and white.  I have only done handful of a black and white art so far and all of them have sold over the years.  My recent painting 'black rabbit' a small canvas painting in my Artfinder gallery awaits purchase, this inspired me to paint a larger one which I have listed on Artfinder and Vango Art today.
